Attendance & Punctuality Parent Information

At West Derby School, we place great emphasis on attendance and punctuality. For a child to achieve their full potential, he/she must attend school regularly and on time. Our minimum attendance target for all students is 97%. Any figure below this will have an impact on your child’s GCSE and A Level results. Click below to download further information:

Ofsted Visit, April 2018

West Derby School was recently visited by Ofsted. Feedback from this visit has highlighted the hard work being done by the school to improve the learning of all students. We have made strides in improving teaching and learning, attendance and outcomes at Sixth Form. The excellent attitude and behaviour of our students was also commended. You can download the letter and comments made by inspectors here:

Ofsted Letter April 2018

To help support your son with his GCSE revision, he has been provided with an individualised after school revision timetable. This timetable runs on a two week basis (week 1 commences 25/09/17). Please find attached a general copy HERE.

E-Safety @ West Derby

This year we have launched a new desktop background on all student accessible computers at school. As children become more and more confident with IT, it is important that they remain safe online and are aware of the possible dangers. All our students receive e-safety training in ICT lessons and year group assemblies at the start of the academic year. We encourage all our students to stay vigilant online and report any suspicious behaviour to their teacher. If parents or carers have any concerns regarding online activity they should contact their child’s PPL at school.

Has someone done something online that has made you or a child or young person you know, feel worried or unsafe? You can make a report to CEOP (Child Exploitation & Online Protection Centre) using the link below:
